Pisang Peak (6091m) plus the Thorung La (18 days)

Pisang Peak 6091mPisang Peak is generally considered one of the more straight forward trekking peaks. However, its very accessibility poses a problem as it's possible to get too high too quickly.

Therefore the itinerary shows two acclimatization days, allowing for up to 11 days to reach the summit from Besisahar (823m). The extra time will significantly increase our chances of summiting.

Following our ascent of Pisang Peak we will follow the Annapurna circuit trekking route through the Tibetan like scenery around Manang, across the Thorung La, to the sacred town of Muktinath, and onward to Jomson for our flight to Pokhara.

This trek ascends through varied scenery and cultures, and we will have the opportunity to visit thermal springs, three Buddhist monasteries, and view the southern border of the forbidden kingdom of Mustang.

This schedule can be shortened significantly by flying out of Humde airstrip immediately after completing the ascent of Pisang Peak, therefore missing the whole trek from Manang onwards.
